The Greatest Poker Game Part XConclusion

The Greatest Poker Game Part XConclusion

This is the last installment, the end of the greatest poker game I ever saw, maybe the greatest poker game ever played.

I'll try to post the portion of the BLUFF aritcle I wrote about it, so you can compare.

Then I'll get back to Prisoner of the Bellagio, the upcoming FTOPS, and another Adventure in the Law.

Stay tuned!

Andy -$350k at 7:14 PM

When Andy folds on turn to Ted's bet, Ted spikes his cards into the muck.

Andy -$600k or so at 7:19 PM

Andy must be out of gas.

He hit the height of his rush and he's so far beyond his limit that he needs a drug ' huge winning pots ' to keep anything [illegible] of focus.

But if you can't focus, how can you win those big pots?

7:22 PM ' Andy -$500k, maybe a bit less.

Maybe it's time for Andy to call it a day.

Bad betting sequence there.

Andy button raise, call
Ac-5c-7c-7c
Check, check flop
Andy bet, call
A-Q Ted lose
Ks-4c Andy wins
Andy $400k
[My depiction of this hand is a scrawl that makes almost no sense, other than to describe how addled I was just WATCHING this.

I believe Andy made a flush out of this hand, but obviously there weren't two sevens of clubs.

THAT I would have noticed and noted more conspicuously.]

7:32 PM ' Andy -$500k

Ted ' raise, fold

Andy ' raise, fold
Andy $75k

7:33 PM Dealer change [Internally, I was begging for Andy to call it a day when they changed dealers.

I knew that the pros ' though no one ever told me so ' would never quit a session on Andy or say they were tired, nor was it within my comprehension that Ted Forrest would ever say, 'I'm tired, Andy.' Letting Andy pick the starting and stopping times is a courtesy the pros extend almost unconditionally.]

Andy -$400k

Andy $75k

7:37 PM

HAND 7 ' Andy ' fold

It's pretty close to even.

HAND 8 ' Ted ' raise, Andy fold

I think Andy is looking for a hand to win to get ahead and quit.

HAND 9 ' Andy ' fold

Andy -$200k

2c-Qs-6s

DONE

Andy +$75,000

At the end, Andy lunged across the table to shake Ted's hand and Ted did practically the same thing.

Ted: 'I feel like I've been in a battle.'

Andy: 'It was like a war all day long.

It was unbelievable.

Listen Ted, if I'm ever in a war, I'd want you on the front lines right next to me.'

Ted got a call and said, 'We just finished the last hand 2 minutes ago.

I can't even think about how to explain it.

(Note: bathroom break, Ted forgot Andy's last name.)

9 AM tomorrow.

Sounds like Ted.
